Why Do You Do What You Do?

I’m reading INSPIRED NURSE by Rich Bluni, RN. One of the questions Rich asks early on in the book is why do you do what you do? I’m trying to work out the answer to that question as it pertains both to my nursing career and to my writing. Right now I don’t have an answer for either. So that’s my goal for the week-to come back next week with an answer to that question that’s more than just the surface “Because I want to help people.”

So why do you do what you do? What keeps you going in your profession?
