So after the first week of the year I’m doing pretty well with my goals except for the one where I’m supposed to blog three times a week. I totally forgot about it today. But here I am, getting in the first of three blog posts this week. After so many failed attempts at getting… Continue reading End of the First Week Goal Update
What a weekend I just had. Not only did I welcome 2012, our congregation welcomed a new pastor and his family, and I wrote more words in one 72 hour period than I ever have before in my life. I’m tired! Starting Friday afternoon until about an hour ago I wrote 8,443 words in my… Continue reading My Personal Best Writing Weekend
New Years Resolutions-seems like it’s almost mandatory this time of year to lay out some ‘thou shalts’ for the coming year. But who actually follows through on those? Anyone? Me? Nope, never have. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that anything I label as a New Years Resolution will, in fact, fall by the… Continue reading Goals, Not Resolutions
October ended with my word count for the month at 12,469. I never thought I’d write that much in a month. But we’re in a new month now and I have a new goal. I plan to write at least 15,000 words in November. If I meet that goal, I’ll aim for 20,000+ in December.… Continue reading A New Month, A New Goal
Our local writers group, Middle Tennessee Christian Writers, has a marathon month every October. At the end of September each of us participating lists our goals for marathon month. Then we cheer each other on. It’s a month of just writing, just being creative, kicking the infernal internal editor out of the house. It’s our… Continue reading Goals Met, Moving Forward
I’m trying out a new schedule. For years I’ve been an early riser due to my job, certainly not by choice. By early I mean 4-4:30 am. Which means I’ve also gone to bed early-well before 10 pm. Over the past year or so I’ve had more trouble making myself get up early and do… Continue reading A New Schedule
Been thinking a lot about the future, what I want it to be and how I can work towards that vision. There are certain things I need to give up, certain old dreams that I never realized and now understand are no longer my dreams. But there are certain old dreams that linger and beg… Continue reading Pondering the Future
I have two fitness goals. One, I need to lose 80 pounds. Two, I want to run/walk the 2012 Country Music Half Marathon. Lofty goals, for sure.
It’s official. I’m the worst blogger in the world. So much for my goal of blogging at least once a week. Can I start again? Not really a do-over, just a restart. Busy day planned today. Housework, cleaning out the car, getting a haircut, and writing all on deck for today.
So I’ve already failed at the post every week challenge. But I’ll pick myself up and try again.
